What's NewEncore Academy...Where Learning Continues...is a program designed for adult learners, promoting life-long learning and personal enrichment. Offered in a visiting lecture style, topics will appeal to a broad range of participants. Discuss new ideas, take on the great questions, and increase your understanding. ...is a FREE balance screening provided by Lori Manthey, PTA, Faribault Commons. Includes a simple test to determine your risk for falls, plus take-home exercises designed to improve strength. Learn for yourself or take the technique home to test a family member. Office of Ombudsman for Long Term Care is a unit within the MN Department of Human Services that investigates and works to resolve complaints about nursing homes, other long term care residential facilities, home care agencies, and hospitals.

Creative Expressions2nd Annual Photo Contest ~ Registration deadline: Friday, September 10
Celebrate Grandparent's Month with the 2nd Annual Intergenerational Photo Contest for Amateur Photographers of All Ages.
The Theme: "21st Century Grandparents and Their Grandkids".
All photographs should include children and elders together demonstrating the importance of intergenerational connections through subjects such as family ties, humor, and recreation. Photo submission deadline is Friday, September 10 by 4:00p.m. No membership required. Open to the public. (click title for contest details)

This two session class will help you understand it. The class will cover various parts of Medicare...Hospital, Medical, and Drug Options.

A minimun of 10 people must register or the class will be cancelled. _______________________ Better Breathers ClubThursday, September 16 ~ 1:30p.m. ~ Senior Center Dining Room FASC is happy to announce a new support group designed for persons with Chronic Lung Disease. This program is organized by the American Lung Association and will be facilitated in Faribault by staff of Lincare, a respiratory care company. People who should attend are adults who suffer from asthma, chronic bronchitis, emphysema, lung cancer, and any other resiratory problems. Caregivers and support persons are also welcome. Better Breathers Clubs offer the opportunity to learn ways to better cope with COPD while getting the support of others who share in similar struggles. The first meeting will be an educational presentation and time for discussion.
