The Senior Center currently offers a multitude of programs to area seniors. With the additional space, we will be able to provide more programs and the City of Faribault will be able to expand programs as well.
From foot clinics to presentations from the hospital, the Senior Center works with local health experts and brings them to the center so that all can get advice at one convenient location.
Many seniors are on social media and most have their own ipad, laptop and smartphone. The Senior Center brings in experts to help answer questions and provide training. From a Facebook seminar to a financial spreadsheet, you would be amazed at what seniors are learning.
The Senior Center offers various exercise classes geared toward maintaining health and wellness. These classes offer a comfortable environment for seniors to come and exercise.
The Senior Dining Program serves a hot, nutritious noon meal with some diet alternatives, such as diabetic options, low salt, and low cholesterol. Although the nutrition is designed for senior citizens, anyone may dine at Senior Dining. Everyone age 60 and over, and their spouse regardless of age, is eligible for the suggested donation of $3.50 per person. The full price of $6.50 are for those under age 60. Serving Fun, Food, and Fellowship. Meals served Monday-Friday at 11:30 a.m.
Seniors have opportunity to go on trips together and explore various locations in Minnesota.
Volunteers from the Senior Center help with numerous activities throughout Faribault. From watering the downtown flowers to staffing a downtown retail store where proceeds go to the senior center. Plus, many other volunteer hours within the city.
